Atchayam Trust was established by Mr. P. Naveenkumar in 2014 with an ultimate aim to create a beggar free country. During the last 8 years, we have reached out to 10,513 beggars, homeless and destitute people across 18 districts in Tamil Nadu. Out of 10,513 beggars, we have effectively rehabilitated 1063 beggars to live a better life with dignity in society.
We have also been constantly involved in creating awareness among the youth about dealing with beggars, and their related issues in life and work in society- 80,000 student volunteers directly reached and 70,000 general publics were reached. In recognition of our service we have received National Youth Award from Government of India and State youth award from Government of Tamilnadu, received 4 best service award from the district collector, Ananda Vikatan Award, Rotary award and more than sixty awards.
Atchayam Beggars rehabilitation and skill development center, which is established in 2020 in Ramnagar, Soolai, Erode and has been successfully rehabilitating over 300 beggars and destitute, elderly persons for the past two years. On knowing the situation of homeless beggars on the road, we rescue the person, clean the person and make them wear new clothes followed by which we will bring them to our rehabilitation center and others can be admitted in various other homes according to their health conditions. Here, we provide them with basic necessities such as a place to stay, food, clothes. We also give them skill development training, arrange job opportunities and once we get to know their family, we will rejoin them with their family. We have constructed a Beggars rehabilitation center with various facilities such as gardening, shelter for 30, skill development area for our clients by our hard work and with the support of local donors.
But, now Atchayam rehabilitation center is facing a major problem that the landowner borrowed money from the bank by keeping this particular property in mortgage at Indian Overseas Bank, Erode. As he failed to repay the money to the bank, according to the court order, the bank initiated E-auction for this mortgaged property, sold the property to another person.
As an alternative arrangement we have planned to purchase a new land area in Erode district to protect more than 150 homeless people, elderly and destitutes. By providing financial assistance to buy as many square feet or cents as possible or giving us materials for the construction of the building can help us save many homeless, elderly people.
Thus, we kindly request you to support us by providing financial contribution inorder to buy land to construct a rehabilitation center. Your small contribution can make a big difference in the lives of many homeless people in the society.
