The COVID lockdown 2.0 was imposed due to COVID-19 in May 2021 in Tamil Nadu, many people again lost their jobs and were left stranded on roads. So, Atchayam Trust has initiated several projects to help the underprivileged people during the pandemic.
We set up Atchayam COVID-19 RELIEF CAMP 2021, which provides a temporary shelter amidst the lockdown for the homeless people at Erode Corporation School, Near Kaalaimadu Statue from May 22, 2021 to June 28, 2021. This camp witnessed 88 homeless people to which food, blankets, clothes, Toiletries and medicines were provided. Activities such as Yoga, Meditation, Fun games (includes Music, Dance, Shuttlecock, Lucky corner, Carrom) and Skill development activities were organized on a regular basis at the camp to keep them physically, mentally and morally fit.
Our 33 volunteers from Atchayam trust has been actively rendering their service at the Erode district Covid-19 24*7 war room from May 17, 2021 till date, despite the pandemic situation. People can call the center for emergency Covid-19 assistance, medical advice on symptoms, testing centers and vaccination centers. Covid patients can call the center for home isolation support, medical emergencies and contact tracing. It will be open for 24 hours with our volunteers working in three shifts.
Atchayam Trust, distributed foods to 2300 people around Atchayam Rehabilitation Center from 09.06.2021 to 18.06.2021, who have lost their jobs due to lockdown as they were based on their daily wages during the Covid- 19 pandemic.
